Ah, the good old days, when everyone knew their place, marriage was very defined and children were allowed to be...sex objects? According to these vintage ads, the good old days may be better left "the good old days". Case in point, these vintage ads from the distant and not so distant past. What do you think of this ad for Love's Baby Soft, a fragrance for little girls who couldn't wait to be all gown up? This ad was from the 70's and featured a little girl all dolled up with the tagline "Innocence is sexier than you think"...

DuPont Cellophane thought in the 1950's the way to win over the women who buy their product was to appeal to their maternal instincts--by wrapping up cute babies in cellophane. Yes, someone actually thought this was a good idea. Now, granted cellophane wrapped foods didn't have much appeal to the eye, but is this any better? What do you think?

Back in the 1940's cigarette manufacturers were always trying to think of new ways to get people to smoke. While endorsements are not unusual, this one is highly questionable, but remember it's from the 1940's. What do you think of this ad?
