About six million tourists flock every year to see the world famous Mona Lisa, the majestic and impressive painting by Leonardo Da Vinci which hangs in The Louvre. After all, the 1503 depiction of silk merchant's wife Lisa del Giocondo is a Renaissance giant - a creation on canvas so sizeable in impact, influence and fame. And almost everyone is shocked by how small it really is. The most famous painting in the world measures only 77 cm × 53 cm (30 in × 21 in). Stonehenge -- on postcards the image of Bronze Age Britain at its most romantic looks huge, seismic, timeless. It is only when you see it in person you realize that each standing stone measures only 13 feet tall - roughly the combined height of two tall people.
