Alberta, Calgary - Peace Bridge - It's hard to believe that the modern design (and cost) of this incredible bridge in Calgary caused controversy when it first opened in 2012. Now it's considered one of the city's most iconic landmarks, thanks to its tubular shape and resemblance to a finger trap puzzle. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the red and white bridge crosses the Bow River and is open to both pedestrians and cyclists, connecting the northwest community of Sunnyside to Calgary's downtown core. British Columbia, Vancouver - Capilano Suspension Bridge - A popular Vancouver tourist attraction, the Capilano Suspension Bridge gives visitors a chance to wander amid the canopy of a stunning west coast forest, just 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver. The original footbridge on the property was a simple rope bridge used to cross the canyon above the Capilano River, but it's since grown into a sturdy cabled bridge. The modern 450-foot (137m) long version still has a bit of a sway, which just adds to the fun of crossing it. Have you ever visited this bridge?
