In July 1518, a young woman began dancing in the streets of Strasbourg, a town in what is now France. Other townspeople joined in. They all claimed they had the uncontrollable urge to keep dancing. The dancing fever spread until several hundred people felt compelled to dance. Once they started dancing, however, they couldn't stop, and this continued for about two months. As the days turned into weeks, the near-constant dancing began to take its toll. Dancers collapsed from exhaustion, dehydration, and injuries. Some of them even died. As quickly as it started, the Dancing Plague ended. The cause of the bizarre dancing affliction is still unknown, but the most widely accepted theory is mass hysteria. Have you ever heard about this dancing plague?

In Dumbarton, Scotland, there's an ornate 19th-century bridge called the Overtoun Bridge. But its claim to fame is somewhat sinister. It's nicknamed the "dog suicide bridge." For decades, dating at least back to the 1950s, dogs have been jumping from the Gothic-style bridge that crosses a 50-foot (15-meter) ravine. Many news outlets have reported on the bridge, and it's inspired at least one full-length book. Animal behaviorist David Sands suggests the "dog suicide bridge" phenomenon, where dogs leap from Overtoun Bridge, may be due to the dogs' keen sense of smell detecting wild animals below, combined with the bridge's structure, potentially confusing them. Some locals attribute the dogs' jumps to supernatural causes, including the presence of the "White Lady of Overtoun" or a negative energy from a tragic event in 1994, where a man threw his baby off the bridge. Either way, this bridge definitely earns its terrible nickname and reputation. Have you ever heard about this bridge?

The definition of "age not being a barrier", Johanna Quaas, retired from the gymnastic world holding a very unique record. She was active in gymnastics since she was a child, and retired at the age of 93, but not before being certified as the World's Oldest Gymnast by the Guinness World Records -- and that was in 2012, when she was only 86. Although she is now retired from competing, she still is active, and posts videos teaching other seniors how to stay active. Do you think she is the poster child for "age is just a number"?

Angelina Jolie, who, besides being an actress and filmmaker, is also a humanitarian and philanthropist, most notably serving as a Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, has definitely made a difference in the world. But, when she was only 22, in 2001, while experiencing suicidal thoughts, she made an attempt to hire a hitman to carry out her own murder. She knew the effect her suicide would have on her family and friends, and she didn't want them to go through those horrible, self-blaming emotions. However, the hitman became the person who made Jolie rethink her decision and give life another chance. He suggested she take a month and rethink it, and the suggestion actually saved her life.
