Although it may look adorable, this child's hair is actually caused by a medical condition called uncombable hair syndrome -- a condition that is characterized by dry, frizzy hair that cannot be combed flat. This condition develops in childhood, often between infancy and age 3, but can appear as late as age 12. Affected children have light-colored hair, described as blond or silvery with a glistening sheen. The hair does not grow downward but out from the scalp in multiple directions. Despite its appearance, the hair is not fragile or brittle, and it grows at a normal or slightly slower rate. Only scalp hair is affected in uncombable hair syndrome. For unknown reasons, this condition usually improves over time. By adolescence individuals with uncombable hair syndrome have hair that lies flat and has normal or nearly normal texture. The condition is thought to be caused by a genetic mutation, and may also cause other more serious issues, like ectodermal dysplasia. Have you ever heard of this condition?

Hey, I used to live on a street called Squirreltail Way, so I am well aware of funny or unusual street names -- but this suburb in Henderson, just outside of Las Vegas has to take top prize. Most of the streets are named after Pokemon characters. When the construction administration manager for Harmony Homes was looking for inspiration for naming the streets in this new subdivision, the mobile game Pokemon Go was popular with her sons, 11 and 14. So, she decided to go with their suggestion and named the streets after these popular characters. You can live on Jigglypuff Place, on Squirtle Lane or just off Snorlax Lane, but there is no Pikachu Place...as the manager was quoted, "I didn't want to use Pikachu because I didn't want it to really stand out that the community was named after Pokemon". You don't think it will be obvious anyway? Have you ever lived on a street with a funny or unique name (and care to share)?
