Heavy metal legends Metallica has quietly funded the Metallica Scholars Initiative (MSI) in partnership with the American Association of Community Colleges since 2019. The program has grown to support nearly 15,000 students across dozens of community colleges and technical schools in all 50 U.S. states, Guam, and expanding internationally into the U.K. The funding provides direct scholarships, specialized equipment, and safety gear and supplies for fields like welding, automotive repair, advanced manufacturing, HVAC, and healthcare. Rather than simply promoting skilled trades, one of the world's biggest bands has quietly been helping train the people who actually do them. Are you surprised to know that Metallica was doing this?

It's difficult to think of two more universally beloved celebrities than Dolly Parton and Keanu Reeves, so perhaps it's fitting that there's a link between the two stars that dates back to Reeves' early years in Canada. Reeves' mother, Patricia Taylor, was a costume designer when the actor was growing up, with high-profile clients including Parton and Emmylou Harris. One of her most high-profile designs would go on to become one of the most iconic looks of the late country star's career — a Playboy Bunny outfit, with the signature black bustier, adorned with pink sequin cufflinks and a pink-and-white bowtie, complete with bunny ears. Parton wore the outfit on a 1978 Playboy Magazine cover, but not before Reeves was an early model for the design, and Reeves even wore the outfit for Halloween when he was 16 years old. Were you aware of this fun piece of trivia?
