Heavy metal legends Metallica has quietly funded the Metallica Scholars Initiative (MSI) in partnership with the American Association of Community Colleges since 2019. The program has grown to support nearly 15,000 students across dozens of community colleges and technical schools in all 50 U.S. states, Guam, and expanding internationally into the U.K. The funding provides direct scholarships, specialized equipment, and safety gear and supplies for fields like welding, automotive repair, advanced manufacturing, HVAC, and healthcare.
