Perhaps the most famous painting in the world, the Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece known as Mona Lisa was actually originally called Monna Lisa, with "Monna" a traditional Italian contraction of madonna, which translates to "my lady" or "madam" (short for ma donna). The title translates to "My Lady Lisa," referring to the model Lisa del Giocondo. Mona is actually a vulgar term in Italian. Theories have circulated that the painting was of da Vinci's mother, but most historians agree it was Lisa del Giocondo. The painting is also known as La Gioconda in Italian or La Joconde in French, a play on her married surname (Giocondo) meaning "the joyful one" or "jovial." Most of us have had them, perhaps given them to our children and certainly recognize these famous lollipops. Chupa Chups, the , name coming from the Spanish verb chupar, which means "to suck", has been sold all over the world since 1969. The recognizable wrapper was, interestingly enough, designed by legendary surrealist Salvador Dalí. He designed it but over the years the logo has been "modernized" a bit. But still, isn't it fun to actually own a piece of "art"! Have you ever eaten one of these famous lollipops? Logo Design Love
