The classic example of this phenomenon for me is "How Bizarre" by New Zealander pop hip-hop group OMC (Otara Millionaires Club) and its attendant album. I enjoyed the single first I heard it on the BBC World Service's U.K. pop chart countdown months before its U.S. release. A domesdtic promotional copy of the act's album on CD at a sale benefitting a community-sponsored radio station to which I tune in regularly. Let's just say that I'm glad it only deprived me of $1.00 of my disposable income! Would you care to share any such music-buying experiences?
