About a year ago, the hospital my in law was in asked me to look at some choices of facilities for discharge, but in the end, told me to come and get her. I dropped everything in my life and moved in with her for two months and looked for an assisted living myself. This was difficult because the patient weighs twice as much as I do and can be belligerent and tries to wander. I finally found a good facility, but she keeps trying to get herself kicked out. My husband has a very demanding job, but is as supportive as he can be. Other relatives are good at criticizing, but refuse to help.

No, I gave in and now me and my family are suffering because care giving for an argumentative person with dementia who wanders is just too much for us.
