Imagine you went out on a first dinner date with a potential partner. The two of you immediately get along well. You had great conversation and chemistry and seemed to have clicked. Then the waiter brings the bill on the table. What do you do?
In the past, that waiter would have given the check directly to the man who was traditionally expected to pay. After all, we lived in a highly patriarchal society back then.
