A woman was shopping in the store when she noticed the man pulling the girl in an odd way. It appeared her hair was wrapped around the handle of the cart, and he was holding her hair in place. She was walking very close to the cart with her head at an angle. The child was overheard saying, "Please stop, I promise I won't do it again". The woman confronted the father and when he told her to mind her own business, she called the police. If you saw this situation in your local store, would you have said something?

I generally get annoyed at people who judge parents based on a few short minutes in a store. You may think a mom was yelling too harshly at her child, but you don't know her story. Maybe her husband died the week before and she's been working overtime to make ends meet and she's really at the end of her rope. Maybe afterward she apologized to her child and spent the whole evening playing cards with him, and is trying hard to be less stressed and taking it out on him. In THIS situation, do you think there could be any back story, any reasonable excuses, for this man's behavior? Yes
