Wednesday January 29th there was a potential threat of a dead NASA Telescope and an old U.S Airforce satellite having a 1 in 10 chance of crashing over Pittsburgh, Pa. It could produce 300,000 chunks of debris that could threaten other spacecraft. The news story showed a picture of the earth with the current 4300 satellites now orbiting the earth and it was completely surrounded by them.

I googled this link and was horrified by the facts of all the dead space debris that is out there threatening spacecraft; to the point that if any more happen it could be 100's of years before space exploration could travel through it. Are you shocked to learn that governments have been deliberately blowing up satellites and that there is so much dead debris surrounding the earth? https://apple.news/AHkhMioUPToCRL0mZK9G_Ig

Companies like SpaceX, Amazon, OneWeb, and perhaps even Apple plan to launch tens of thousands of satellites this decade to form internet-providing "megaconstellations." The article link from above shows the first batch of 60 high-speed Starlink internet satellites, each weighing about 500 pounds, flat-packed into a stack before their launch aboard a Falcon 9 rocket on May 23. Knowing how much debris is out there already, and knowing how many satellites are already out there, do you think it is a good idea for technology to continue to overload our planet's orbital space?
