What was to be a festival of music, arts and dance in southern Israel, promising a "journey of unity and love", turned into a bloodbath, when militant Hamas forces attacked, killing hundreds and taking many hostages, including small children. The open-air Tribe of Nova music festival will go down in Israeli history as the worst civilian massacre in the country's history, with at least 260 dead and a still undetermined number taken hostage. Dozens of Hamas militants who had blown through Israel's heavily fortified separation fence and crossed into the country from Gaza opened fire on about 3,500 young Israelis who had come together for a joyous night of electronic music to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. Are you aware of this recent news story?

In an area that has seen increased rise in tensions, recently, the attack took many by surprise, and disbelief, as images from the attack were almost beyond belief. Videos show the gunmen executed some of the wounded at point-blank range as they crouched on the ground. Some of the militants even rifled through the vehicles of their victims, grabbing purses and backpacks. One survivor of the attack, Maya Alper said, "I can't even explain the energy they (the militants) had. It was so clear they didn't see us as human beings. They looked at us with pure, pure hate." Do you believe this was a terrorist attack?

Following Hamas's attack, many prominent anti-Israel activists and organizations have expressed their full support for the Hamas actions on social media platforms such as X and Instagram. Anti-Israel campus groups, community organizations and journalists are framing Hamas's terror attacks as part of an anti-colonial struggle in which any and all forms of "resistance" are justified. Do you feel any attacks on innocent lives should be condemned no matter what the political climate is in that region?

Many, including many Israelis, feel that the present government under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is too right wing and extreme, but there should be no doubt that what happened in Israel still deserves our support and condemnation of Hamas, no matter how you feel. When the 9/11 attacks took place, no one supported Al Qaeda; when the Paris attacks took place, no one supported Isis. How do you fall on this subject?
