There was a story going around, especially during the protests in France about the company Blackrock. This financial planning and investment firms headquarters are in Paris and were the target of attacks by the protestors. The story was that this company owns a bunch of media companies, pharma companies, tech companies, etc. Another company Vanguard was also associated with this. The claim was that no media was covering the protests in France because they are all owned by Blackrock.

Doing a quick search on this story resulted in this article from Reuters. https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-business-investment-idUSL2N2WI1K4. If you heard this story about Blackrock, did you take it at face value immediately and believe it or did you question it? I believed it right away because I wanted to believe it. I know nothing about this story so i can't comment.
