You may not be familiar with these terms but they are a hot news topic now in Toronto where I live. They refer respectively to renters being forced out of properties because the owner wants to renovate in order to get higher rent or sells to someone who wants to demolish the property and build something larger. There are also, of course, private dwellings which are taken by imminent domain. In the case of renters in a horribly expensive city like Toronto, this has forced many into homelessness.
