Such is down-on-Biden sentiment that if a government shutdown occurs at month's end, 40 percent in this poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates, say they'd chiefly blame him and the Democrats in Congress, vs. 33 percent who'd pin it on the Republicans in Congress – even given the GOP infighting behind the budget impasse. Do you think there'll be a government shutdown?

The poll found that approval of Biden's job performance has fallen by 17 points among black voters since 2021, from 80 percent to 63 percent. Politics have never been this heated and divided a subject. I have friends and family that have different political ideologies than I do. So far, it has not been an issue and we discuss respectfully, or just agree to disagree. I haven't lost anyone important to me over politics. Have you been able to do the same?
