Results: How much do our leaders make?

I honestly have never really thought about this. Have you ever thought about this question?

Most people who run for any kind of office, particularly on the right side of the aisle, already are independently wealthy, connected to the business world, come from money or all of the above. The only thing left for them to attain is power and influence. Do you think that is why most politicians, not just people running for the highest office run at all?

In Canada people who hold office only need 6 years of service to be able to access a generous pension when they retire. In the U.S. i believe it is 5 years. Knowing this, does it make you want to run for office?

I believe that some politicians get into the game, at least at first, to really try and make positive changes. But the system as it is really doesn't allow them to make the kind of real change that will help people and then they become corrupt or frustrated and give up. Do you think that politicians should go back to being what they were supposed to be, civil servants working for the people, with set term limits?

If you answered yes to the previous question, and you are someone who votes for wealthy politicians, do you really believe that they are in it to help the average citizen or do you know and like that they are only in it to stay wealthy and help their wealthy friends and business associates wealthy as well?
