Early Saturday afternoon, Trump wrote in a short social media post on Truth Social, "He who saves his Country does not violate any Law." Ed Krassenstein, an anti-Trump influencer with 1 million followers on X, formerly Twitter, wrote Saturday: "This is literally a quote attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte—right before he orchestrated a coup, seized absolute power, and crowned himself Emperor in defiance of democracy. He centralized the government, ruled with total authority, abolished free elections, crushed political opposition, censored the press, and executed over 2,000 prisoners of war. He even reintroduced slavery into the French colonies, undoing the progress of the revolution. This isn't just history—it's a warning. Ignore it at your own peril." Can you see similarities in what Trump is doing to what dictators such as Napoleon have done in the past?

Trump often compares his opponents to "vermin" as he warned supporters that America's greatest threats come "from within" -- extreme rhetoric that echoes the words of fascist dictators like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. He is targeting the media, Democrats, celebrities, anyone who does not support him and dares say anything against him. He is systematically suppressing freedom of speech -- the first steps any dictator will do. Eliminate all your opponents, one by one. Hey, he himself said he was aiming to be a dictator (at the time, only on day 1 of his presidency) -- and true to form, in his inaugural address, he made three moves: declaring an emergency through war rhetoric, invoking a mandate to power from the public and God, and demonstrating the awesome power to define reality and remake the nation shows us that Trump—at least rhetorically—spoke as a dictator, not as a president. Just as he had told us he would do. Do you think Trump is fashioning himself to be a dictator, and not just president? Yes

His world policies, in recent weeks, definitely track as those of a dictator. Canadians have been left stunned by how our country's historically close relationship with the U.S. has soured so quickly. Trump seems determined to annex Canada, making it a 51st state, stating Canada would be better off in a multitude of ways. Trump has publicly mused about using military force to take over Greenland because he sees it as part of America's international security plans. He ignited a firestorm of controversy with his latest remarks suggesting that the US should "take over" and "own" Gaza. So, first alienate your closest ally, then start taking over other countries, then who knows? If it sounds like a dictator, it just might be a dictator. Do you agree? Yes

During Hitler's dictatorship and plans for Germany, this fundamental legal principle became Nazi "common sense", "Whatever is good for Germany is legal". Does this sound alarmingly similar to Trump's post of Truth Social "He who saves his Country does not violate any Law"? Yes
