Jesse Jackson Jr. just got sentenced to 30 mos. in prison for stealing money from his campaign fund even though he gets $8700 disability payment because he's bi-polar. Do you think it is fair he gets that disability payment since he's not physically disabled?

i think that's a huge monthly payment for someone of his apparent means. there are so many bi-polar people living honest, productive lives on earnings of much lower amounts. as is the case so often life isn't fair.
most people get just a fraction of what this loser gets in disability & certainly deserve more. his daddy is rich & could support his son but refuses to do so. the old saying,"the rich get richer" certainly applies. they should have locked this thief away for a lot longer because he deserves it.

first off, disability is paid from social security funds and secondly, most people collecting have never contributed anything to the ss fund. no wonder ss is going broke, it is being used for things besides retirement payments to those who paid into it.
