Are you familiar with the following?: -A Deaf three year old in Grand Island, Neb. signs his name by crossing his forefinger and index finger and moving his hand up and down. Grand Island Pubic Schools administrators, who claim that the S.E.E.-registered gesture - uniquely meaning "Hunter Sanjer" - violates a rule that forbids anything that "looks like a weapon", have asked Hunter's parents to change their son's sign language name as they feel the action looks like a gun. It now appears that the National Association of the Deaf will fight for Hunter's right to sign his name at school...
