USS Enterprise (1775) - As far as I've found, this was the first US naval vessel named Enterprise. She was originally a British supply sloop named 'George' built in Canada. Captured by an American force commanded by Colonel Benedict Arnold, she was made into a sloop-of-war named Enterprise. Two years later she was run aground and burned to prevent British re-capture at the Battle of Saratoga. Would you ever destroy something so it doesn't fall in the hands of others?

USS Enterprise (CVN-65) - is the first nuclear powered aircraft carrier as well as the longest naval vessel ever built at 1,123 feet. The eighth US naval vessel to have the name. She saw service from 1961 - 2012, was involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis and other conflicts. Now decommissioned, scrapping is to begin in 2025. Ever serve or been on such a craft for a visit?

Space Shuttle Enterprise (OV-101) - originally to be named Constitution, Star Trek fans sent in thousands of letters, and NASA changed it to Enterprise. She was a prototype and never travelled into space, but made test flights launched from the top of a modified 747. She's now on display at Intrepid Museum, an aircraft carrier made into a museum in New York City. Star Trek - Enterprise NX-01, was the setting of Star Trek: Enterprise and the first to bear the name.
