Writer's Throughout History (Part 2): Edgar Allan Poe

1. I am writing this survey on Halloween and although I know it won't be published until afterwards. I thought the king of mystery and the macabre deserved a survey. Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 19, 1809. He had a dark and twisty life with his father abandoning him, and his mother dying about two years after he was born. Unable to support himself, he enlisted in the United States Army. He also was married to his first cousin Virginia Eliza Clemm at one point. Are you a fan of Edgar Allan Poe?

2. The death of Edgar Allan Poe is one of the most intriguing mysteries in American literature. He died on October 7th, 1849 at the age of 40, after being found delirious and disheveled in Baltimore, Maryland. The cause of death is still uncertain theories such as alcoholism, epilepsy, heart failure, rabies, even that he was buried alive circulated around.
