It's been 41 years since Olivia Newton-John captured hearts in Grease. The memories of the film, for both Olivia and her fans, are still very fresh. Now the outfits she wore will help create something much more than memories. as they were auctioned off recently in California, with the proceeds going to the Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, a hospital she helped establish in Australia. Olivia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, and is presently battling her third cancer diagnosis. The Grease outfits, along with other famous Newton-John outfits, such as the bell bottom jeans she wore on NBC's "The Midnight Special" and a custom designed wedding ensemble from the actress' marriage to actor Matt Lattanzi in 1984, raised over $2.4 million. Are you surprised that her outfits would raise this much money at auction?

Of course sometimes owning a piece of a celebrity can go way too far. Imagine paying $25,000 for actor William Shatner's kidney stone -- which someone did buy, although it was for a good cause (a housing charity). Which of these strange auction items would you actually like to own?

But the most ridiculous auction purchase of all time, just possibly is this one: a fan of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie sold a bag of the actors'…breath. The seller claimed it was "caught" while attending a red carpet premiere in which the former Hollywood power couple were present. That bag of air sold for $530. Who do you think is more ridiculous, the seller of the "breath" or the person who bought it?
