1959. Ben-Hur. I grew up thinking that Ben-Hur was a real person. Heston plays the title character that was apparently a remake of a silent film and adapted from a novel from 1880 called Ben-Hur. A Tale of the Christ. This was Heston's only Oscar for acting, but he did win another for his humanitarian work. Have you seen this epic? Did you enjoy it?
Seen it. It is of course a classic.

1971. The Omega Man. At this point Heston had already done 2 Ape movies and his status as a great actor was kind of waning and he was becoming almost a parody of himself. I for one loved this movie and Heston is a legend in my eyes. It is based on the 1954 novel I am Legend.
Seen it. Campy but I love it.

1994. True LIes. Most of his later roles were cameos, small roles or narration in things like Wayne's World 2, Armageddon, Disney's Hercules. He plays kind of a Nick Fury type character, boss to Arnold Brownswaggers secret agent role. This is one of my favorite Arnold movies. Have you seen it? Is it a favorite?
