Results: Who is the best Canadian Comedian or Comedic Actor? SNL Edition.

Phil Hartman was a real stand out on his time with SNL. Also played Captain Carl in the stage and tv version of Pee Wee's Playhouse. NewsRadio for 4 seasons, was going to be a 5th, but he was murdered by his wife. Dan Ackroyd, one of the original cast members has seen much success after SNL. Ghostbusters, Blues Brothers, a favorite of mine in his role in Gross Pointe Blank with John Cusack. Who is your choice?

Mike Myers became huge on SNL, but became a star with Wayne's World, Austin Powers and Shrek. Norm MacDonald was a fan favorite on Weekend Update but was fired. He had a great standup career before and after SNL. Not that big in movies or TV. Mostly small parts in Sandler movies and a couple failed TV shows. My favorite of his stuff is Dirty Work. Who gets your vote?

Mark McKinney was part of the great Canadian comedy troupe Kids In the Hall. Which funny enough got its name from something the cast was called at SNL. He never achieved huge fame, but is always good in the roles he got. I know Martin Short was in the last survey, but he made a mark as a cast member on SNL as well. Who do you choose?

Bowen Yang, not born in Canada. His family moved from Australia when he was young to Montreal Canada. He knew french better than his native Mandarin. He has been one of the standouts on the less then stellar cast this past 5 or 6 years. Paul Shaffer of course best known as the musical director for David Letterman was a SNL cast member for 1 season in 1977. Apparently he is known as the first person to say f*#k on SNL.
