Results: I have recently been introduced to the Wordle computer game and find it slightly addictive. It does however have some aspects that make me go hmmmm?

Wordle is such a simple game I was surprised to find it was created and developed by Welsh software engineer Josh Wardle in October 2021, and is now owned and published by The New York Times Company. Why did it take so long to develop something so simple? The game has some interesting quirks though.

One of my earlier games stumped me because the answer was "KINDA" which to me is not a real word. Do you think games like Wordle and Scrabble should allow answers of this type?

Both Putin and Biden are unacceptable by more than Wordle.

Trump is/was an OK choice in the beginning but like the Wordle game he soon morphed into something else.

Josh Wordle initially created the game for himself and his partner to play, eventually making it public in October 2021..Many clones and variations of the game were also created, as were versions in languages besides English. The game is so simple that I wonder why it was not developed long ago. The game was purchased by The New York Times Company in January 2022 for an undisclosed seven-figure sum, with plans to keep it free for all players. Can a game this simple really be the property of one individual or entity?
Keeping it free does not mean free from ads.
