Frederick 'Fronkensteen' - played by Gene Wilder, Frederick is the grandson of Victor Frankenstein who initially wants nothing to do with his memory (hence the name pronunciation) but eventually does. Victor dies in Mary Shelley's novel, but in the classic 1931 film Frankenstein, (called Henry) he survives, so a loop-hole to play with. Wilder has been in many funny films, a few below, have you watched any?

Igor - played by Marty Feldman, this hunchbacked servant's grandfather worked for Victor. He insists his name is pronounced 'Eyegor'. There's a running gag with his hump seeming to switch sides, etc. Going back to Shelley's novel again, Victor had no assistant. In the 1931 film, he was called Fritz. 'Ygor' first appeared in Son of Frankenstein, a blacksmith with a deformed neck. Somewhere along the line, he got associated as Victor's assistant. Ever known someone with a hunched back or other physical deformity?

Frau Blucher- Cloris Leachman is the housekeeper of Victor's old estate. We learn Victor was her boyfriend. Another funny running gag whenever her name is mentioned, horses neigh. Going back to the novel, Victor's girlfriend was Elizabeth, who dies, yet not so in the 1931 film. Oddly, Frederick's fiance is also named Elizabeth (Madeline Kahn). Guess Blucher was another gal Victor knew on the side. Ever poke fun at someone's name, maybe as a kid?

The Creature - Peter Boyle plays Frederick's creation, styled after Boris Karloff in the 1931 flick with the heavy brow, scars, but with a zipper on his neck. In Shelley's novel, the creature learn to read and speak, but in many Frankenstein films he utters a few words or none at all. In any case, I tend to call Victor's being a creature rather than a monster. Yes, he does some monstrous things, but didn't set out that way. What's your take?

Yes - the being is a 'monster', he does kill several people, possibly frames one for murder, intentionally ruins Victor's life. Plus he's 'unnatural' and looks a monster.

No - the being is a 'creature'. He did not ask to be made and brought to life, is abandoned by his creator, has to fend for himself. Some of his actions could be chalked up to bad mistake. It's only when Victor refuses his reasonable request for a mate, his manner turns.

Puttin' On the Ritz - From the 1930 musical of the same name, this was written by Irving Berlin. In Young Frankenstein, Frederick shows off his creation to the public, singing this tune. As stated earlier, a stage musical of the film was launched, below is this scene from that. Ever seen Young Frankenstein performed on stage?
