As far as love stories in films go, I find my tastes lean toward fantasy or quirky. Below a few for your consideration this Valentine's Day.

The Princess Bride - the survey title comes from an 'Impressive Clergyman' with a speech impediment in this film. William Goldman did the screenplay based on his own novel. Tale has Westly saving his true love Buttercup from Prince Humperdinck. Fun film full of adventure, great one liners and cast. Odd question, but can you think of any stories the princess saves the prince? If so, let us know in comments.

Ladyhawke - pickpocket Phillip finds himself mixed up with lovers Isabeau and Capt. Navarre who have been cursed by an evil bishop so that she's a hawk by day, he a wolf by night, never to meet in person. Do you find you enjoy love stories with a beauty and the beast type scenario or some unusual obstacle the lovers must overcome?

Creator - Dr. Wolper is trying to regrow his dead wife in a backyard shed using items 'borrowed' from the college he works at. Recruits students Boris and Meli to help. Jeremy Leven wrote the screenplay based on his book. Heck of a lot of fun, though does delve into serious issues death is a part of life and sometimes need to stop clinging to the past. Speaking of, do you find you cling to the past in terms of passed loved ones?

Romancing the Stone - Joan Wilder is a popular romance novelist who finds herself in Colombia swept into an adventure with Jack Colton that seems straight out of one of her novels. Terrific cast with good chemistry, some who'd later be in the sequel The Jewel of the Nile. While the idea of a couple on some wild adventure is fun, would you really want to find yourself mixed up in one?
