Roy Scheider (1932 - 2008) was an American actor probably best known for playing Chief Brody in the 1975 movie 'Jaws'. He's been in several others though, below a few faves of mine one may or may not know he appeared in. "It's showtime, folks!"...

All That Jazz - Scheider plays Joe Gideon. The film is based on the life of dancer, choreographer and director Bob Fosse (who directs and was a co-writer). Scheider is the last actor I would think could sing and dance, but is quite good at it in my opinion. Bob Fosse has been involved in many stage musicals and films, below just a few any you've seen?

2010 : The Year We Make Contact - the sequel to Arthur C. Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey (though his novel is just called 2010: Odyssey Two). Scheider is Heywood Floyd, who travels to Jupiter with an American and Russian crew to find out what happened to The Discovery. It's last message "My God, it's full of stars..." Humanity has yet to travel beyond the Moon, do you feel we'll ever go to Jupiter or further?
