In some sectors of the music press and certain radio formats, boygenius (yes, the first letter's rendered in lower case) are a humongous deal...and big enough to be one of this year's Grammy Awards nominees for new act of the year. The band is comprised of previous (and current?) solo artists Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus as well as Julien Baker, who has been in a couple of indie/alt rock bands prior to this one, none of whom is a boy. Can you think of any other bands whose names are at least apparently ironic?

Maybe they're not being ironic but consider themselves geniuses at figuring out boys and don't like upper-case letters nor spaces between words.

The Bay Area of Northern California has been home to many punk rock bands for many years, and Destroy Boys is currently one of them. Female members Alexia Roditits --whose black-and-blonde hair I quite like--and Violet Mayugba, however must not want ALL boys destroyed, because they have the, in so far as I can tell, non-girl Narsal Malik for a drummer. Have you ever wanted to see an entire class of people destroyed (perhaps with an occasional exception)?

Remember The Vengaboys? Two of whom are, girls? The quartet of dancing singers were assembled by a couple of Netherlander dance music DJ's amassed a spate of club hits throughout the late 1990's, occasionally crossing over to pop radio in many nations. Most prominently in the U.S., they hit with "We Like To Party! (The Vengabus)," They're still active, too, as exemplified by their 2010 collaboration with Perez Hilton, "Rocket To Uranus" (?!) and appearance at the 2023 Eurovision song competition. But, hey, do YOU like to party?

In the context of the subject at hand,. the next word to follow "good ol''..." for many people may be "boys." But then there were The Good Ol' Persons, a Berkley, CA bluegrass band active through the late 1970's to the late '80's (occasionally reuniting in the 2010's). And, keeping with the theme of the previous questions, a majority of the band members are good ol' girls. Has anyone ever called you, hopefully in a complimentary way, a good ol' boy or girl?

If any other boyishly-named bands predominated by girls that haven't come to mind have come to yours, how about sharing in a comment?
