Eric Carmen just passed away this month at the age of 74. Upon learning the news of his passing, I listen to some of his hit songs when he went solo and it brought back a flood of memories from my youth. Here's a favorite of mine "Hungry Eyes" in which the video featured some beautiful scenes from the movie "Dirty Dancing" with an absolutely gorgeous Patrick Swayze. Coming from a family of Russian-Jewish immigrants, Carmen's first two solo singles were chart hits in 1976. Both were built around themes by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
