First up is Elvin Bishop's "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" Mickey Thomas was a vocalist in Bishop's band and sang lead on. Mickey Thomas went on to join Jefferson Starship and had a lot of success. This song however was Elvin Bishop's one hit. It was on the soundtrack for the movie Guardian's of the Galaxy. This song still enjoys a lot of airplay, have you heard it lately?

Next we have "Rock Your Baby" is the debut single by American singer George McCrae. Written and produced by Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch of KC and the Sunshine Band, "Rock Your Baby" was one of the landmark recordings of early disco music. A massive international hit, the song reached number one on the Hot 100 in the United States, spending two weeks there in July 1974; number one on the R&B chart; and number one on the UK Singles Chart, spending three weeks at the top in July 1974. Having sold 11 million copies, it is one of fewer than 40 all-time singles to have sold 10 million physical copies worldwide. Do you like disco music?

Derek and the Domino's - "Layla" although Eric Clapton has had tremendous success all along his lengthy career, this short lived, star studded ensemble he gathered had one big hit "Layla" shows up on many one hit wonder lists. This song written by Clapton was about George Harrison's 1st wife, Pattie Boyd, who he'd fallen in love with. Do you think this song is beautiful, regardless?

"I'd Love To Change The World" From Ten Years After's 1971 album, A Space In Time. Written by guitarist/singer Alvin Lee. Due to its political lyrics, the song was able to appeal to the younger generation. This led to it being a top forty hit. I remember it got a lot of airplay. Still a relevant message. Alive 'n Kickin' - "Tighter, Tighter" written and produced by Tommy James after the Shondell's dissolved. The group's initial run lasted from 1968 to 1971, during which they didn't achieve success outside of "Tighter, Tighter", making them a one-hit wonder. Do you know this song?

Last but not least; "Na Na Hey, Kiss Him Goodbye" by Steam - written and recorded by studio musicians Garrett Scott, Dale Frashuer, and producer/writer Paul Leka at Mercury studios in New York City. When it topped the charts, Leka put together a band called Steam and sent them out on tour in support of the song. "Steam" was soon let out of the band and they disbanded. They left a legacy though that is still heard at sporting events worldwide whenever a team wins a game. Enjoy! Have you ever sang this song?
