Dan Hartman - "I Can Dream About You" - Daniel Earl Hartman (December 8, 1950 – March 22, 1994) was an American pop rock musician, multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer, and songwriter and original frontman for several bands. This song was written with Hall & Oates in mind. When they declined Dan recorded himself and it was on the movie soundtrack Streets of Fire. Quite a story behind the scenes. Released in 1984 it reached #6 on Billboard hot 100, & became his most notable hit. Dan worked with James Brown, co-writing "Living In America" also co-wrote Edgar Winters "Free Ride" Some of my 80's faves come from soundtracks. Do you enjoy movie soundtracks?

Patrick Swayze - "She's Like The Wind" - while there's much to say about this man, I'll focus on the song. Written by Swayze and Stacy Widelitz for a different movie, it wasn't used until the film Dirty Dancing. The 1987 song features additional vocals from singer Wendy Fraser. The ballad reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Adult Contemporary chart. Patrick was abundantly talented, do you agree?
