Results: New Music -- Some Fun And Some Beautiful!
Published on 03/29/2025
I grew up with the music of the late 60s and 70s, but love discovering new music. If you stop discovering new things (music included), you stop living, in my opinion!

Swedish singer, Clara Mae (formerly in Ace Of Base) wrote and released "Growing Pains" late last year, and for some reason, it has become one of my favourite songs. Sweet, deep and beautiful, it starts off acapella and then becomes acoustic, going quiet again for the end. The lyrics are about family dynamics and how it affects you growing up, as well as your adult life. If you listen to it, what do you think?

Now for some fun...you know how some songs just personify how you're feeling at the moment. Last summer, driving to the beach, this song came on, and none of us had heard it before. It was a gorgeous sunny summer day, we were heading for a fun day at the beach with our family and we felt like it just sounded like we felt. "A Little More Lost" by Georgia Ku, came out in 2023, and her background is primarily writing songs for Rita Ora, Fifth Harmony, Zedd and many other EDM artists. Now this song may not be for everyone, granted, but it is a fun song with a very catchy chorus. If you listen to it, what do you think?

Back to beautiful. I absolutely love this song, and this singer. Her voice is so emotional and unique, and you just know there is a sad story behind this song. "Last Train To London (I Won't Look Back)", by Mimi Webb, is indeed a song she wrote in 2023, as she literally and metaphorically moves on from heartbreak, eventually taking the final step necessary to leave her failed relationship behind. Many of us can relate, I'm sure. If you listen to this song, what do you think?

Back to fun! Chappell Roan is having her time in the spotlight, that's for sure. Her music is fun and upbeat, and this particular song is so much fun, even with its important message. Recently I saw a video where they played this song (the song, not the video) for children as young as four, and adults up to 74, and asked them what it was about. Answers ranged from "pink ponies dancing in a pony club" to "everyone needs to find their 'group'" to "accepting who you are and know you'll eventually find a place where you feel you belong". Everyone can interpret it their own way, exactly what the message of the song is about. What do you think of "Pink Pony Club"?
