The song Sound Of Silence covered by Disturbed is thought to be one of the best covers of any song ever. It's been talked about in Tellwut surveys before, so I know many of you agree. This dance number from Dancing With The Stars showcased this song, and the backstory to why it was used is almost as emotional as the actual number. The "star" in this number is Nyle DiMarco, a model and actor -- and he is deaf. He was born into a multi-generational deaf family, and has become a deaf activist. He danced (wonderfully, I might add) using vibrations from the dance floor to guide him, as he could not hear the music. He won the season. If you watch this video, are you as amazed as I am how incredible a dancer he is?

So You Think You Can Dance is one of my favourite TV shows, and so many incredible dance numbers from that show stay with me long after I watch them on the show. This one was one of my favourites, and a perfect example of the right song combined with talent and emotion producing a beautiful moment. This dance was a tribute to one of the choreographer's' friend's battle with breast cancer, and the emotion expressed by these talented dancers feels very personal -- I too lost a mother to breast cancer. If you watch this video, does it stir up emotions in you too?
Absolutely, as I have gone though something similar

Another SYTYCD performance that really affected me was this one on the way addiction can ravage and destroy an addict, and how hard it is to break free from the addiction. Not only addiction, but abuse. The male dancer is the "addiction" in this one, and the female dancer is the addict. I don't think it possible to express what this "abusive relationship" is like better than with this dance. If you watch this video, do you agree?

Slumdog Millionaire, the 2008 movie that swept the Oscars that year, is more than just a film about unlikely success; it's a reflection of divine themes that urge us to live purpose-driven lives filled with faith, perseverance, trust, and love. Some say the closing credit scene, a celebration of joy set to an original song written for the movie captures the movie's essence better than any other musical number in film. You don't have to watch the movie to get this sense of joy, or even like Bollywood music or dance -- if you watch the video, did you enjoy it?
