Dune - director David Lynch was the first to adapt Frank Herbert's sci-fi novel Dune in 1984. The American rock group Toto provided most of the music. I find it works, doesn't seem out of place. Do you pay much attention to music / songs in what you watch?

Flash Gordon - Flash is a comics character created by Alex Raymond in 1934. Buster Crabb is best known for playing him in film serials later compiled into movies. Then there was the 1980 film. Queen did the score. While the film is campy, do you find this title track fits the heroic vibe of the character?

Legend - directed by Ridley Scott, this is an interesting case. Jerry Goldsmith had wrote a score, but the producers felt Tangerine Dream would work better, a popular group at the time. This is their song for the finale of the film. Sorry, but makes me gag. I get it, don't need a song. Ever have a similar reaction to a song or music you've seen in a movie?

The Last Temptation of Christ - a 1988 film directed by Martin Scorsese based on a novel by Nikos Kazantzakis. Was quite controversial at the time. In any case, Peter Gabriel did the score. Gabriel is known for delving into music from various cultures. Do you like musicians who do this at times?
