Weird Music Wednesdays: The Cruisin' Album Series- Like Radio, But Not on Radio

1. Cruisin' is a series of albums. released intermittently from 1970-95. meant to replicate the format of U.S. AM band pop/rock & roll radio from 1955-70. Each volume replicates a show/air shift by a prominent disc jockey in a major city in the years from 1955-70. The first volumes of the series--representing 1956-62--were released in 1970, less than 20 years prior to what is commonly known among critics and historians as the start of the rock 'n' roll era (1955, when Bill Haley and His Comets' "Rock Around the Clock" became a #1 pop single); the implication of the Cruisin' series appearing when it did was that there was such a great upheaval in popular music and overall culture in the latter half of the '60's that memory of the kind of music popular before the mid-'60'' British invasion f U.S. pop and the stye of radio broadcasting that promoted the music was becoming rare by the dawn of the '70's. It may well have been weird for especially young music lovers to listen to any given Cruisin' volume's mix of often hyperactive DJ patter, jingle-laden commercials and other sonic element surrounding music that even then was considered "oldies." Before reading this question, were you familiar with the Cruisin' album series?

2. Each of the chronological Cruisin' albums is a complete package of a recreated slice of vintage broadcasting, informative sleeve notes and researched artwork evocative of the style of romance comics books. That last element of the series, both in its chronological volumes and a few special editions, tells of the relationship of a couple--redhead Eddie and blonde Peggy--throughout the years the series recounts. Though the eras covered by the Cruisin' albums have been the subjects of multiple nostalgia cycles already, I'd like to see a funny, but probably somewhat poignant, romantic comedy movie based on Eddie and Peggy's relationship as depicted on the album covers; of course, songs from the albums could/should be used in the soundtrack, and the albums could be reissued, too (and/or properly populated to streaming services such as Spotify and Tidal if they're not available there already). Would you be interested in a movie based on a couple first depicted on a series of album covers?
