Heard it Through the Grapvine - written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong in 1966, Gladys Knight and the Pips and Marvin Gaye are best known for the song. In 1986, the clay animated California Raisins were introduced to advertise raisins with Buddy Miles doing the singing. This 'group' spawned many tie-ins including four albums. Ever own any California Raisins tie - ins?

I'm Gonna Wash That Man (Gray) Right Outa My Hair - you may recall this tune from my survey on the 1949 musical South Pacific. Clairol made use of this in the early 80's to wash gray outa your hair. Regardless if you use Clairol products, ever use some brand of gray hair product?

Short Shorts - this oldie goes back to the late 50's written and composed by The Royal Teens. Nair made use of this in a series of ads in the 80's for its hair-removal product. Apparently this won a Clio for advertising. Were you aware awards were given for ads?

Like a Rock - Bob Seger's song got used for a series of Chevy truck ads starting in 1991. Apparently Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA was the original idea, but he declined. Ever owned a Chevy truck, maybe do currently?
