Some people watch The Red Green Show" for his creative uses of duct tape or his Rube Goldberg solutions to simple problems. A Rube Goldberg machine is a comically complex contraption that performs a simple task in a very convoluted way, often using a chain reaction of events. These machines are named after American cartoonist Rube Goldberg, who was known for his drawings of such contraptions. This survey is about such inventions - the kind that stops company from ever coming to visit. File this under "Arts and Crafts."

"If it ain't broken, don't fix it." But you know what? Even if it IS broken, sometimes you still shouldn't fix it. When a wife nags her husband to fix something, or go to the hardware store to get home improvement supplies, I am sure if they knew what the finished project would look like, they would reconsider. In this example was the garage too small or was the kitchen too big?

Sometimes a heat dome and all those family members complaining "It's too hot" all day, can drive a guy crazy. Note the slope in the back yard. Would this pool be an escape from the heat (literally)?

Why pay $1,000s to have a shower installed in the basement when you can do the job yourself with just a few plumbing parts on a long weekend. Some questions are raised such as 1. Where does the soapy water go? 2. The walls appear to be drywall - "dry" seems to be important. 3. This installation is about 8ft high - how do you reach it? The bottom line is (TW members) - have you ever needed a shower this bad?

On a hot summer day, getting in the car after it has been sitting in the parking lot for a few hours can be painful. Or you need to leave the kids or the dog in the car while you go shopping. The last time that happened, some busy body smashed the car window to let them out. Problem solved?
