Results: Same Old Same Old...

When Texas teacher Dale Irby retired in 2013, after 40 years of teaching, he could safely claim a record that no one else could ever claim. Irby had worn the exact same outfit in every single one of his school yearbook photos for the full 40 years. It started as an accident. When he received his photo in his second year he was embarrassed to discover he'd worn the same polyester shirt and brown sweater vest as the first year. His wife dared him to wear it again the third year. Then Irby thought five would be funny. He says, "After five pictures it was like, 'Why stop?'" So, 40 years of memories and even though the clothes did not change, Irby certainly did. Have you ever been photographed wearing the same thing where it was humorously noticeable?

Oddly enough, I ran across this cute story while at my dentist office, reading a magazine. I just happened to be wearing a winter jacket that I had bought 31 years ago, to wear during my first pregnancy. I thought this jacket was cute, a great colour and a style that I could wear pregnant and then afterwards. And I was right. I even get compliments on the jacket, which always surprises me. After all, this jacket is over 30 years old. It is definitely the oldest piece of clothing I own, but also one that I wear still to this day. Do you have clothes that you have had for as long as that, in your wardrobe?

In keeping with the survey's theme, have you ever checked photos to see what you wore to a wedding or special event, to make sure you did not wear the same thing to an upcoming event. I have two friends who attend a lot of events (both in political circles) and they even keep track of what they wear to each event, so as not to repeat outfits since there will be photos. Have you ever done anything like this?
