Although face shapes are all unique, they do fall into some common categories. Knowing your face shape can help you determine which hair style is perfect for you that compliments the shape of your face and therefore, brings out all of your best features. Also knowing the shape of your face is crucial when it comes to getting the right haircut; finding out what hats, sunglasses, eyeglasses, earring, accessories, and clothing are best for you, and the most flattering for your face shape. It also shows you which way you should contour your facial features (ladies).

So what shape face are you? Oval: Is considered the most sought after, very desirable, beautiful, and versatile face shape which matches with any hair style, hair cut, glasses, sunglasses, ext. Oval face shape is visually symmetrical, eyes are evenly spaced, basically perfect. Round: A full and round jaw line and a round hairline in many cases. Triangular: Wide hairline, broad jaw line and narrow chin. Square: Squared and broad jaw-line. Forehead, cheekbones and jaw are the same width. Pear: Narrow forehead/hairline and broad jaw line. Oblong or Long/ Rectangle: Sides of face are narrow and straight. A slightly rounded chin in many cases. Diamond: Rounded hairline, wide cheekbones and a narrow chin. Heart: It's almost like an upside down triangle. It is wider at the top(forehead and cheekbones) and tapers down to a delicate chin. Which face shape are you?

If your not to sure what face shape you have you can use this technique if you want. You'll need a dry-erase marker, a mirror, and your face. You can use lipstick or lip liner if you don't have any erasable markers. Stand directly in front of your mirror with your hair pulled back. Stay completely still as you trace an outline of your face with your marker or lipstick. Once you've finished drawing an outline of your face, stand back and take a look at the results.
