Results: Taco Salad

Taco salad or Taco bowl is a Tex-Mex dish originated in Texas during the 60's. Have you ever heard of or eaten Taco Salad?

The salad is served with a fried flour tortilla shell stuffed with shredded iceberg lettuce and topped with diced tomatoes, shredded Cheddar cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. The salad is also topped with taco meat (ground beef), seasoned shredded chicken or beans and/or Spanish rice for vegetarians. Would you care to try this healthy, complete and fun to eat meal?

There are some variations of Taco salad mostly involved replacing the tortilla shell or bowl with nacho chips, tostadas, ... and of course the toppings can be selective according to what you like. For people who like to use the tortilla shell for taco salad. The tortilla bowls can be purchased ready to use (more expensive and may not be as fresh as you would like). However, there is the Taco bowl baker (for sale at many retailers) using to make fresh Taco bowl right before you put the dish together. I got one on sale for $21 plus tax on Amazon a few months ago and what a great kitchen gadget to have for this healthy dish. I'm sure we'll have many good uses of it since my family love Taco salad.
