I honestly wasn't web-surfing in pursuit of stories regarding what you'll read about below. But once I learned of it, I thought it too bizarre NOT to share here.

For a while in the mid-2010's, there existed in Tokyo, Japan a restaurant that specialized in serving a curry prepared to purposefully taste like human waste. Were you previously aware of this dining establishment?

Despite possessing a flavor and smell distasteful to most people, the curry in question is actually a quite healthful dish; it contains pulled meat, fish, cacao and, vegetables as well as a variety of gourd and a bitter tea native to Japan. It was served in a dish resembling a Japanese toilet. Knowing that this curry could do you some bodily good, would you be any more inclined to attempt downing a serving of it (if it matters any, it was served with short grain white rice or what appear to be ramen noodles...but bottles of water were sold at an unusually high price!)?

I was already sold on giving it a go or may have tried and enjoyed (?!) it on a trip to Tokyo at the time it was in business.

To my knowledge, the crappy curry (which contained NO excrement, human or otherwise), along with the aforementioned starches, was the only entree sold there. Have you ever eaten at a restaurant that only offered one entrée'?

Vile as what Shimizu served may be to most diners, I harbor some admiration for his effort. It doubtless took a great deal of research to arrive at a recipe for an edible facsimile of the substance most folk would leave as the waste product of what they had already eaten. Though you may not want to eat his culinary innovation, can you appreciate the dedication it took to come up with it?
Yes (however begrudgingly)
