  • I have had work injuries and I did report it but you didn't give me that option. I picked an answer that made no sense in my case.

  • Many times you get hurt and don't realize it's going to be as long lasting or your getting older and don't realize at first how bad it hurts. You just keep thinking it's going to stop.

  • Worked at a cookie factory in Texas. A forklift driver had a pallet of boxes stacked over 8 feet high fall in him and the manager not wanting the accident to go on HIS record told him to get up and forget what happened. At same factory a woman operating a mechanical cookie press lost a hand when she was required to clean the machine. Cleaning is supposed to be done by 2 people but the factory wanted to save money. The woman lost both her hand and her job as she was fired.

  • My husband got horribly burned at work, he is a cook and someone shoved him while he was carrying a very hot tray. He got a huge burn on his arm and he couldn't go to the hospital or report it because he has smoked marijuana the week before and he gets automatically drug tested if he reports an injury with automatic termination and he also doesn't have health insurance. We bought all kinds of burn ointment and bandages and eventually it healed but he has a bad scar.

  • If it was my own stupidity then it's my fault. I've only reported one injury because I stabbed myself with scissors and barely missed my eye. My bosses made me report it and one of them took me to the hospital.

  • Working in the medical field I have known ones to file and they were literally blackballed but, only if they turned it into a lawsuit. I filed for SDI and got better over the year. Honestly I was afraid to lose my position as a civil servant.
