I have been forced to use a walker or cane until I get my knee surgery next month. This has presented many problems. The American Disabilities Act states that all public buildings must have handicapped entrances. A new Family Dollar store was built last year in my town. There are two sets of doors to enter. It is very difficult to hold the doors open while maneuvering a walker. Do you think all businesses should have automatic doors or a button to push to open doors?

Most people are kind and will stop and at least hold the door for me. There have been a few who ignore me and let the door slam in my face. Would you stop and help a person struggling even if you were in a hurry?

In the US, people on Medicare and/or Medicaid can get assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc. paid for. All they need is a doctor's prescription. Did you know this is available?

Another US government assist available to those who are hearing impaired is a captioned phone. It is paid for by a Federal program. Your need for this must be verified by an audiologist. Have you heard of this program?

Lastly, I want to thank all Tellwuters who create polls with videos for including an N/A option. I am hearing impaired and cannot hear a video clearly, especially music. I also use closed captioning on my TV. Do you use closed captioning on TV?
