"protect your children and the rest of society." There are ways to do that that don't involve only vaccines, stop listening to your television for once.

A load of total garbage. Vaccines should NEVER be mandatory, and it's what goes inside them that counts. Sometimes what is inside is worse than a disease. Depending on the sickness, you had best seek out alternatives from your physician. While Vaccination itself is not the "problem", the preservatives in them always are. (Which, must lead to better vaccine shots finally) Vaccines are not for everybody, research what is put in the shot to decide if it's for you.

I get so angry at these ignorant parents who 'make medical choices for their children' by not allowing or seeking out vaccinations to protect them from some pretty deadly and nasty diseases. I sincerely believe these should be mandatory.... their excuses are so lame compared to the horrible reality of the possiblility of acquiring one these diseases... get over your indignation and protect your children and the rest of society,.

We used to be able to trust in the F.D.A. and other Medical entities, but the greed factor is making it difficult to know what is needed for people's health, or what is needed for the health of the stock holders wallet.

Everyone needs to research vaccines and decide for themselves and their children. I mean really research not regurgitate what they have been told by those who gain monetary profits from vaccinations.

those of you who don't immunize, it's a good thing those African mother's didn't give their babies that "poisonous measles vaccine", right? Death is better than putting that "poisonous measles vaccine" into their child? I bet if you ask any one of those African mother's who had their child die from a disease like measles, they would have taken a vaccine for their child in a heartbeat, the same vaccine that all the unvacced parents are turning their noses up at. Do your research, make your own decisions about your child's health, but just remember that by making the decision not to vaccinate, you may be part of the reason why these diseases will make a come back and kill children. I don't blindly follow along and think that all vaccines are safe, but do your research and don't just blindly follow along all the conspiracy theorists who say that these vaccines have caused everything from asthma, to allergies, to autism. My question is if the vaccines are at fault then why doesn't every child have the same reaction to these vaccines? Every child should develop the same reaction if the vaccines are consistently causing these problems. And not every child is. I don't think the vaccines are smart enough to pick which child they want to impair, so why don't all children have these same reactions?

mamav, it's not our immunized kids that we are worried about. It's the children out there that can't be immunized due to allergies or compromised immune systems. Your un-immunized child could KILL a child who has cancer and can't be immunized. If your un-immunized child was exposed to something like whooping cough, gets it and then is around a child who has cancer who couldn't be immunized against whooping cough, your child could KILL THAT CHILD! Also, those that think there are no benefits to immunizations, please google pictures of the diseases that we no longer have because of immunizations. Things like polio, smallpox, diphtheria, tetanus, yellow fever, whooping cough, and measles. One of which has already made a come back because of people deciding not to immunize, whooping cough. Children in Africa are dying everyday from diseases that our children don't die from because we immunized our children here against them. Measles, a viral respiratory infection, killed over 500,000 children in 2003, more than any other vaccine-preventable disease. The measles death toll in Africa is so high every minute one child dies that many mothers don't give children real names until they have survived the disease. Measles weakens the immune system and renders children very susceptible to fatal complications from diarrhoea, pneumonia and malnutrition. Those that survive may suffer blindness, deafness or brain damage. why.html According to th

I don't get the shots anymore to stay up to date, and if I ever have children I'll be thinking long and hard about if they will get them. It is a tough choice.

I wish that every parent who is uncertain about vaccinating their kids would talk to an older person who remembers the fear of these diseases, and the tragedies they caused. We have been lulled into complacency because vaccines have made these devastating illnesses so rare that we don't think it's possible to get them anymore.

My damned doctor "Hauser" won't let me get the Shingles shot. He said I was too young!!!! 47 yrs old. I worked in a hospital about 5 years ago, and they made me get another measles shot! I had cancer cells from HPV (so the dr said, the specialist). It seemed a ton of girls were at his clinic also (all medicaid). The shot was not available til just a few years ago. We are going to have all kinds of people who get those diseases again......especially in college. It is scarey!

Working for a certain childrens hospital, I am required to have all the latest vacinations and they do have my medical reords on file, which I have no problem with. If I'm going to work with and around children and as a parent I am going to make sure I am up todate on any and all my shots.

Not true, about Canada/Ontario. My daughter is not up to date, she has the appropriate vaccine exemption form, and she goes to public school every day. Learn what is LAW and what is RECOMMENDED. The Canadian government does not force you to have vaccines, they just make it seem like the only option.

What's up with all these crazy conspiracy theories against vaccines? Many diseases had been eradicated in the developed by vaccines, until a growing minority of the population became deluded into believing the silly conspiracy theories that vaccines are harmful.

DW75, half that stuff or more is in many things you eat, drink, inhale and so on, I think you may have mentioned some everyday household items. Are people who eat food and drink liquids dumb? Are people who decide to clean their homes or laundry or their skin with anything other than filtered water dumb?
