The Be Kind People Project is a non-profit dedicated to providing students with comprehensive youth development programming that effectively uses a positive approach to social, emotional, and academic learning. Through experience and project-based learning, students are equipped with solid framework for decision-making and taking accountability for building respectful interpersonal relationship skills, improving academic results, and forming enduring values. This is a direct quote from the website of The Be Kind People Project, which was launched in Arizona to help our children learn to be kind. Sounds like something we may need around here sometimes, doesn't it?

Many psychological therapies focus on reducing negative thoughts, and engaging in pleasant and healthy behaviors in order to enhance well being. In elementary schools, children have to go around in a circle and say what they like about the person next to them. When someone is going through mild depression, they are urged to write down things they feel happy about, to show that there are positive things in their life. It all sounds so simple, yet we seem to find it so much easier to be critical, condescending or mean to each other. Do you sometimes find this happening on this site?

So, in the interest of just being kind, let's do a little experiment. The first person to comment must say something nice about someone on this site, and then every subsequent comment has to compliment or find something nice to say about the person preceding them. Or, if that's not what you want to do, just find a nice thing to say about someone on here. And hey, I know some of you here will do the exact opposite, but let's try it and see how good it feels to be kind...will you?
