I was thinking, for health related data in population-based surveys, that having more than male and female is necessary, so that you capture the mental and physical needs of everyone. As a rule there has not been equity in access to healthcare for the transgender population. However, for marketing purposes, I am not seeing the need for this. Do you agree?

In 2003, I went to Denver for a conference regarding HIV. In the evening was a formal meet and great in the bar area. There was a woman who had just gotten breast implants and was "done" with all surgeries, finished! She walked in, in an evening gown and was so emotional. Her friends were crying, some clapped, and in a few moments most of us also emotional and happy for her joy. If you had experienced the joy of this women, would it change your mind (if you're not accepting of the LGBT population)?
