Did not receive a response and yes I would do it again.
I grew up 32 ft from the high tide, on the coast of Maine. As kids, we did this all the time. My sister did get an answer. The person was, theoretically, from Pennsylvania, but he found the bottle while his family rented a cottage about 3 cottages down from us! We should have taken the bottle out to the channel vs just dropping in the cove for the tide to take out!

I went to a website that launched it for me- they organized bottle tossings in your choice of water and would do it for you. i got a response from a nice guy in France.

Many years ago, when I was about 15 and I did see the bottle come back to shore further down the beach. However, the 2 young lads that picked it up threw it back in. Perhaps I should have waited for the tide to turn.. lol

Yes, and one of my novels begins with that very scenario: retrieving a bottle with a note in it. One Storm Too Many, it's called.

I would do it using a post office box or some other mail drop. I wouldn't put my home address.
