To Laura Nyro, the singer-songwriter responsible for composing Barbara Streisand's first hit in a pop/rock style, her 1970 recording of "Stoney End," which contains the lyric "I was raised on the good book Jesus/'til I read between the lines" (a line Nyro's record company insisted she change when she first recorded the song) I'd ask "I know you wrote this song from the perspective of a character, but, still, WHAT lines being read between were you on about?" Have you ever thought to ask a songwriter about what meaning s/he intended behind a lyrics of a song of theirs you like (or might like more if it weren't for that lyric)?

To Albert Einstein, the scientist who was defined in the public eye nearly so much by his often wild hairstyle as his probing genius, I'd ask, "I can see where your moustache makes for a good look, but, come on!, aren't you smart enough to find your way to a barber shop?" Have you ever questioned why someone in the public eye would wear his/her hair the way s/he does (or did)?

To D-Boy (born Daniel Rodriguez), the rapper whose two albums in the late 1980's and early '90's he recorded for a contemporary Cristian music label didn't-- I believe-- capture his artistic potential due in great part to the gatekeepers in the market to which he was playing not having a firm handle on how to produce nor market authentic hip-hop at the time, who was assassinated at the age of 22 while driving a car in October 1990, I'd ask, "Did you get a good enough look at whomever shot you to identify your assailant? Probably not like I have to tell you, but it would be a great relief to your family and the cold case detectives who could get bring your killer to justice if you could share that information." Are there any dead person of note whose death remains mysterious about whom you're curious in so far as the circumstances surrounding their demise?

To my biological father--who, per this survey's title, is at least of note to ME!--who was still married (or amidst a separation from?) his wife at the time he he started a relationship with my mother and got her pregnant with my older sister...and whom I ever met... I'd ask, in a compound sentence, "Was whatever you didn't get from, your wife and apparently did from my mom worth it to be a deadbeat dad, what prompted you to split the scene before my sister was born, why didn't you ever respond to the one letter I sent you, and how might I yet be able to get a portion of your estate?" Have you any deceased relatives to whom you'd address questions you were unable to ask them before they died?

To Marie Antoinette, France's last queen before the onset of the secularist revolution that ousted her, I'd ask, "What flavor of cake did you have in mind for your subjects to eat?" Have you wanted to ask a royal about what you should have for dessert?
